Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) announced the launch of a new global cybersecurity training program for staff, teachers, and administrators at K-12 schools and districts. The $20 million initiative, called the AWS Incident Response Scholarships Program, was created to help K-12 schools better understand and respond to cyber threats. The program includes basic cybersecurity training, vulnerability scanning, security best practices training, as well as assistance with incident response planning. The program is available for any K-12 school or district in the United States, Canada, or Mexico. The program provides participants with the skills and knowledge they need to reduce their online risk. In addition, AWS is providing a variety of professional consulting services and grants to help with the implementation of the program. AWS hopes that by providing this training and support, they will be able to better protect K-12 schools and districts from cyber threats. Cloudflare is offering free zero trust cybersecurity protection for public school districts with less than 2,500 students through its Project Cybersafe Schools.
