The University of Cincinnati is preparing to host the Ohio Cybersecurity and Resilience Exercise (OCRX), a statewide cybersecurity exercise that will bring together decision makers, operators, and emergency responders from across the state. The exercise will be held on August 10th through 12th and will focus on information sharing, incident response, and coordinating the communication and actions of a variety of stakeholders. The goal of the exercise is to better understand the cyber-response infrastructure in Ohio, detect and diagnose incidents, assess readiness, and work towards prevention. During this cybersecurity exercise, the University of Cincinnati will provide their testing facilities and facilities for participants to simulate cyber problems within their own organization and respond to possible incidents. Simulated breaches, disruptions, and emergency scenarios that could affect state and local government systems will be created as part of the exercise. This event will help stakeholders to practice responding to such incidents and focus on understanding how state-level agencies would coordinate during a major cyber event. More than 70 individuals and organizations have signed up to participate in the exercise, including state and local government agencies, health care providers, educational institutions, cyber security companies, and the Defense Department’s Cyber Resiliency Center of Excellence.
