CISA offers free security scans for public water utilities – RedPacket Security>
– admin
The United States Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has recently announced that it is offering free cybersecurity scans to public water utilities.
CISA is part of the Department of Homeland Security and is responsible for protecting and strengthening critical infrastructure in the United States.
The scans will be conducted by Assured Harbor, which is a division of CISA, and will be conducted for vulnerable assets that are publicly available, such as publicly facing web applications and publicly accessible computer systems.
The scans are intended to help public water utilities better understand their attack surface, fix any vulnerabilities they may have, and to minimize the risk to their systems from potential malicious actors.
Additionally, CISA has also established a security clearinghouse where public water utilities can submit security protocols for review.
Utilities can also receive additional security guidance from CISA which can further help to protect their systems.
