Falcon for Mobile to Accelerate Detection and Response for Mobile Threats
CrowdStrike Blog – Haris Kampouris
Mobile device security has emerged as a pressing concern for businesses, with almost half of all businesses reporting a mobile-related security compromise in the last 12 months according to the 2022 Verizon Mobile Security Index.
This highlights a significant increase from the previous year.
Mobile attacks, such as the Pegasus Spyware campaign, have prompted small and medium-sized businesses to prioritize mobile security, with some using 70% of their security budget on the task.
CrowdStrike Falcon for Mobile is an example of this technology, allowing customers to extend their endpoint detection and response (EDR) and extended detection and response (XDR) to Android and iOS devices.
Notable developments for Falcon for Mobile include the ability to author and manage custom indicators of compromise (IOCs), automated app analysis to identify suspicious activities, and integration with CrowdStrike Falcon Fusion for automated response actions.
Furthermore, CrowdStrike has launched features to streamline mobile device enrollment, improve detection capabilities, and speed up incident responses.
These features allow for greater control over blocking risky domains, IP addresses, or subdomains, automated response workflows, and containment measures for potential threats to the system.
CrowdStrike has also improved its Falcon for Mobile offering by providing zero-touch deployment and unified dashboards for easy management and monitoring of mobile devices.
The solution assists businesses in efficiently managing their mobile device fleets, making the deployment and enrollment process easier, and providing a more intuitive, user-customized dashboard for real-time mobile threat hunting.
