Proofpoint Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Tessian

Proofpoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: PFPT) announced today it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Tessian, a leading provider of human-centric security technology to protect enterprise networks from the threats posed by human error and malicious insiders.
The acquisition accelerates and extends Proofpoint’s security capabilities across cloud, email, social media, and the security of privileged accounts.
The acquisition also expands Proofpoint’s strength in human-centric security capabilities – including understanding usage behaviors such as risky data access activity, malicious content sharing, policy violations and inadvertent data leakage associated with various user activities.
In addition, Tessian’s patent-pending threat modeling and machine learning capabilities will help Proofpoint further enhance its data loss prevention (DLP) capabilities.
