Bleeping Computer –
The new CVSS 4.0 Vulnerability Severity Rating Standard has been released by the First.org Vulnerability Database and provides organizations and individuals with a more comprehensive and accurate way to measure the severity of a given vulnerability.
The standard incorporates several new metrics such as Exploitability Metrics, Sensor/Effect Metrics, and Platform/Environment Metrics.
In addition, it also updates several existing metrics such as Base Score, Temporal Score, and Environmental Score.
The new standard is more detailed and comprehensive, allowing organizations to gain a better understanding of the severity of a given vulnerability and better prioritize resources in dealing with it.
