Group-IB, a threat intelligence firm, is marking its 20th anniversary by announcing plans for global expansion, including entry into the U.S. market.
The company is seeking its first round of funding in seven years to support this growth.
Despite a turbulent history marked by the arrest of its co-founder and former CEO, Ilya Sachkov, on treason charges and the subsequent move of its headquarters from Russia to Singapore, Group-IB has distanced itself from its Russian origins, particularly in the wake of the Ukraine conflict, and has sold off its Russian-based operations.
Now, Group-IB is poised to expand its cybersecurity services aimed at preventing cyberattacks and fraud.
With a significant portion of its revenue coming from the APAC region and a strong track record in cyber investigations in partnership with international law enforcement, the company is focused on establishing new digital crime resistance centers to provide localized cyber defense.
Having solidified its presence in Eastern Europe, the APAC, and the Middle East, Group-IB’s future plans include reaching into the Latin American market by 2024 and the U.S. by 2026.
To achieve its goals and become a decentralized cybersecurity leader, Group-IB intends to raise funds to accelerate business and technological developments, expand into new markets, and recruit technical experts globally.
