Cybersecurity in Paradise: AI Lessons Dominate SANS Holiday Hack Challenge 2023

The SANS Institute has launched its annual free Holiday Hack Challenge, sponsored by industry leaders Google, Microsoft, and Amazon.
This year’s challenge is set in the whimsical equatorial Geese Islands, where participants are tasked with helping Santa save the holiday season from cyber-attacks.
The event will delve into AI-assisted cybersecurity, covering offense, defense, cloud security, AI voice cloning, web application security, threat hunting, space mission software vulnerabilities, lock picking, phishing analysis, Azure AD, and Secure Shell configurations.
Participants have the opportunity to engage in a holiday-themed Capture the Flag (CTF) event, win prizes, and take part in a virtual conference featuring cybersecurity expert talks and a holiday hacking music soundtrack.
The challenge aims to provide valuable hands-on experience with AI-assisted cybersecurity while maintaining a festive and educational atmosphere.
