Citizens Financial Group has announced that Brendan Goode will become its new Chief Security Officer (CSO) effective April 29, 2024\) Goode joins Citizens from Commonwealth Bank of Australia where he served as CSO.
In his new role, Goode will report to CIO Michael Ruttledge and oversee cybersecurity, operational resilience, and fraud prevention.
Citizens states Goode’s experience will enable effective leadership to protect the bank and improve customer service.
Goode will succeed retiring CSO Holly Ridgeway, a 20+ year industry veteran at Citizens since 2017\) Ridgeway oversaw cybersecurity, physical security, and business resilience.
Citizens will ensure a thoughtful transition process to further strengthen security and resilience capabilities.
Ridgeway will remain until end of June to enable a seamless handover.
Ruttledge praised Ridgeway’s essential role developing strategies to protect Citizens from cyberthreats and wished her the best in future endeavors.
Goode’s past roles include Managing Director at Citigroup overseeing security, resilience and emerging risks, CISO at Deutsche Bank, and senior cybersecurity leadership positions at U.S.
Department of Homeland Security.
