Canberra-based cybersecurity company Ionize has been awarded a Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) grant to deliver Project DFNDR.
Project DFNDR aims to streamline cyber threat detection, defense, response and recovery for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs).
It is a partnership between Ionize, Cybermerc and the University of Canberra to provide an integrated managed cybersecurity service and threat intelligence sharing platform.
The project will uplift participating SMEs’ cybersecurity capabilities through proactive, adaptive defenses and shared threat intelligence.
It simplifies cybersecurity for SMEs by providing complete services like threat hunting, monitoring and intelligence sharing.
University researchers will analyze telemetry data from participants to develop an adaptive cybersecurity solution.
Priority participation will be given to companies operating in or serving the defense and critical infrastructure sectors.
Participating SMEs will incur no costs during the 12-15 month proof-of-concept phase.
The CRC-P program aims to improve Australian industry competitiveness through collaborative research partnerships involving SMEs.
The key objective is to deliver an integrated, cost-effective managed cybersecurity capability tailored for SMEs, especially in defense/critical sectors, by combining commercial solutions with academic research.
