EMEA security spend will have another boom year in 2024>
Computer Weekly – Alex Scroxton
Security services and technology remain the top priority for IT spending in EMEA, with 63% of organizations planning investments in this area in 2024.
48% of EMEA organizations plan to increase overall IT spend in 2024, with security being the main beneficiary driven by cyber resilience needs
New regulations like the EU’s Digital Services Act, Data Act, AI Act etc. are influencing this upward security spending trend
Top global security spending areas are vulnerability management, penetration testing, data loss prevention (DLP), multi-factor authentication (MFA), zero trust network access (ZTNA)
In EMEA specifically, ZTNA for cloud security, cloud data security, DLP, cloud visibility/monitoring and SASE are priorities
Security is extending into application development (DevSecOps, API security) and cloud environments
For SecOps, spending is planned on SIEM, threat intel, XDR, endpoint protection
XDR converging with MDR services
Network security spending going towards ZTNA, firewalls, SIEM, VPNs, IDS
Major growth in ZTNA and SASE adoption
For data protection – email security, data governance, DLP, compliance and encryption in focus
Identity priorities include SSO, MFA, zero trust identity access, privileged access management
Emerging areas like generative AI security and quantum protection also seeing some spending.
