It is indeed alarming that the SSLv2 protocol has still not been completely forgotten after 28 years. The fact that it is still used in some networks and a small percentage of websites shows that there are still vulnerable programs that have not been updated to modern security standards. Thankfully, more and more companies and organizations are becoming aware of the importance of digital security and taking the steps necessary to transition away from the outdated SSLv2 protocol and bring their networks and websites up to date with the latest security standards. With enough continued effort we can hopefully reach a point where the SSLv2 protocol will soon become a thing of the past.
