The global Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) market continued its sizzling growth in 2Q 2023, according to the Dell’Oro Group.
The market hit a new record of $2.14B, surpassing $2B for the first time in a single quarter.
This represents an increase of 38 percent year-over-year.
This follows an impressive 1Q 2023 that saw SASE revenue growth of 31 percent year-over-year.
Cisco and Palo Alto Networks maintained their spots on top in terms of share, together they accounted for over 50 percent of SASE revenue in 2Q 2023.
Zscaler had the third spots as the demand for Zscaler’s SASE solutions continued to surge.
VMware Carbon Black trailed Zscaler with 10 percent of the SASE revenue.
Dell’Oro Group noted that SASE revenue is now split between four giants – Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, and VMware Carbon Black.
The Dell’Oro Group also highlighted that the enterprise segment accounted for the vast majority of SASE revenue with 80 percent of the total revenues coming from this sub-segment.
This strong growth in the enterprise segment is attributed to the increasing demand for multi-mode secure access solutions that offer comprehensive protections for increasingly complex enterprise networks.
Overall, SASE market growth continues to be driven by three major factors; an increase in the number of people working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the shift to cloud computing, and the need for efficient and secure networks.
The Dell’Oro Group report is yet another indication of the booming growth of SASE solutions across enterprises.
Going forward, this growth is likely to further accelerate as enterprises increase their reliance on cloud services and adopt new ways of working.
