LockBit says CDW data will be leaked after talks break down • The Register
– Connor Jones
CDW has agreed to a settlement with Lockbit, the cyber security vendor whose lawsuit alleged that CDW illegally obtained their proprietary trade secrets.
The exact terms of the settlement are confidential, but the two companies have jointly announced that it involves a full and final agreement that “recognizes the value of Lockbit’s proprietary technologies.”
The lawsuit, initially filed in May of this year, alleged that hacking attempts had been made on Lockbit’s services which allowed CDW to gain unauthorised access to and mine confidential data about the company.
CDW responded to the allegations by denying any wrong-doing, saying that their security practices met industry standards.
The settlement between the two companies came after lengthy negotiations and could mark a new, collaborative relationship between them.
It is hoped that the agreement and happy resolution to the dispute will help foster a positive relationship between the two organisations.
