The OIC-CERT 5G Security Working Group has launched the Harmonized and Unified Cybersecurity Certification System (HUCCS) as the third part of its 5G Security Framework.
This new system aims to standardize cybersecurity measures for 5G networks and services among OIC member states, enhancing assurance mechanisms for certified cybersecurity outcomes.
The HUCCS initiative, which updates the previous framework from early 2022, was recently agreed upon by OIC-CERT Board Members and is considered a major step towards promoting collaboration and economic development through 5G technology in the Islamic world.
The framework focuses on international norms for 5G network security, including cooperation, risk management, and legal compliance.
HUCCS is designed to simplify the certification process, encourage cross-recognition of cybersecurity certifications, and support member states in the safe adoption and advancement of 5G and related digital technologies like cloud computing, the metaverse, and AI.
