The International SOS has released its 2024 risk map, designating South Sudan, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, and Somalia as the most perilous nations to visit due to a combination of medical, security, and climate change risks.
This year’s assessment includes climate-related risks, with an emphasis on climate change’s influence on emerging health hazards.
The report highlights extreme heat events in Europe and anticipates these conditions becoming more frequent.
Security warnings reached “extreme” levels in several countries, while the safest countries included Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Switzerland, and Denmark.
Additionally, the study ranked countries based on medical and climate change risks, with several nations in the “very high” risk category.
Notably, the UK received a “low” rating across all risk categories.
