Israeli Cyber Giant Check Point Names Ex-IDF Commander as CEO>

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has appointed Nadav Zafrir as its new Chief Executive Officer
Zafrir, who will assume the role in December 2024, brings extensive experience in the cybersecurity industry, having co-founded and managed Team8, a global venture creation and venture capital fund focused on cybersecurity, Data & AI, Fintech, and digital health
He has built, invested in, and chaired 17 cybersecurity companies and has served as Chairman of the Board of SolarEdge Technologies since 2019
Prior to his work in the private sector, Zafrir served 25 years in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), retiring as a Brigadier General
Gil Shwed, the current CEO, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board upon Zafrir’s appointment
Shwed praised Zafrir’s leadership skills and expressed excitement about his appointment, believing that he is the right leader to take Check Point to new heights
Zafrir, in turn, acknowledged Check Point’s pioneering role in shaping modern cybersecurity and emphasized the critical importance of cutting-edge cybersecurity in today’s turbulent world, especially with the advent of AI
He looks forward to working with the company’s leadership team and Shwed to write the next chapter in Check Point’s growth.
