MEF, a global industry association, has announced the availability of its MEF enterprise business and operational Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) API portfolio
This suite of APIs empowers enterprises to seamlessly perform automated business and operations with their service providers, aligning with MEF’s NaaS Industry Blueprint and fueling the advancement of Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) for enterprises
Key points:
1) The enterprise LSO API portfolio allows enterprises to connect their internal automation systems and applications with service provider networks, enabling frictionless experiences and streamlining digital transformation.
2) The APIs cover a wide range of business and operational functions, including address validation, product catalog, ordering, inventory, trouble ticketing, and more.
3) MEF enterprise LSO APIs are available for various services, such as Carrier Ethernet, IP Broadband, and Direct Internet Access, with plans to expand to other services like dark fiber, edge compute, and cybersecurity solutions.
4) The Enterprise Leadership Council (ELC), comprising senior enterprise executives, has provided actionable insights to guide the development of the enterprise portfolio.
5) Initial use cases include buying and managing enterprise services, incident reporting for rapid response to service changes and cybersecurity threats, and automated buying and managing of network services.
6) Over 155 service providers worldwide are in various stages of adopting MEF business and operational LSO APIs, with at least 35 already in production and the number expected to surpass 100 by the end of 2025.
7) MEF’s roadmap includes optimizing its capabilities for mobility and developer/application use cases, emphasizing intent-driven automation processes for both wireless and wired services.
8) The NaaS Industry Blueprint provides a common framework for understanding and defining NaaS, driving market growth and helping businesses achieve their digital transformation goals.
9) MEF’s Global NaaS Event (GNE) in October will serve as a catalyst to fuel the advancement of NaaS for enterprises.
