The new capabilities extend the power of AI throughout the threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR) lifecycle
Key features include:
1) AI Search Assistant: A generative AI-powered search assistant that enables SOC analysts to search for indicators of attack through a natural language search interface, helping them detect threats faster
The assistant also suggests relevant queries based on the analyst’s environment and potential risks.
2) Smart Investigations: Utilizes ExtraHop’s machine learning architecture to automatically generate investigations by correlating detections that map to high-risk attack patterns
Informed by real-time network insights, Smart Investigations prioritizes the most critical threats, accelerating investigation and response times
The announcement comes as SOC analysts face an expanding threat landscape and alert overload, with 38% of security decision-makers prioritizing the use of AI and machine learning to manage and mitigate cyber risk in 2024, according to the Global Cyber Confidence Index
