Avast bolsters telco, IoT and security with new appointment>

Digital security firm Avast (LSE:AVST), has appointed a new senior vice president and general manager for its Telco, Internet of Things (IoT) and Family business unit. Nick Viney will take responsibility for Avastâs global strategy for the business unit and will lead the development of the companyâs position in smart home security, while expanding its overall portfolio of security products and partners including telecommunications providers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Viney previously held the role of group CEO at the publicly listed Cyber 1, and regional VP for McAfeeâs consumer and corporate divisions. He has also held roles at within the consumer, SMB and enterprise business units at Google and Microsoft.
