/d/d-id/1335609 The personal information of 6,000 applicants for a pilot job at Southwest Airlines was hacked by an unauthorized third party. The airline discovered the breach in October, and notified applicants of the breach soon after. Data leaked in the breach includes the names, Social Security numbers, and other personal information of applicants. A Southwest spokesperson said that no financial information or flight information was compromised, and that the airline has taken additional security measures to protect customersâ data. The airline is offering affected customers one year of credit monitoring and identity protection services to help them protect their personal information. Southwest declined to comment on the identity of the hacker or the technique used to access the data.
