GitKraken Releases New Developer Tools>
– Pete Goldin
GitKraken has announced the launch of two new products and plans to introduce two more tools in the near future.
The company has unified all its developer tools into a single suite, allowing for seamless transition between different environments.
The IDE, desktop, and command line work together with full continuity.
To make their suite more affordable, GitKraken has reduced the price of the first and second seat.
The new products include the GitKraken CLI, designed to facilitate Git collaboration directly from the command line, catering to engineering teams with diverse tooling preferences.
They have also introduced the GitKraken Browser Extension, which transforms the browser into a developer surface, supporting Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, and working with platforms like GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and Bitbucket.
GitKraken also previewed the upcoming launch of GitKraken.dev, which will provide collaboration features accessible via web and mobile, enabling developers and team leaders to stay connected to their team’s work.
Additionally, they announced their plan to bring the power of GitLens, a popular VS Code extension, to the IntelliJ IDE ecosystem in early 2024.
GitKraken aims to offer developers more productivity tools and collaboration capabilities at a lower price.
The cost of the first two seats of their entire dev tool suite has been reduced to $4 per month each.
They also emphasize the importance of collaboration services, including Shared Workspaces, Cloud Patches, Focus Views, and DORA Insights, to enable distributed teams to collaborate effectively.
These new products and services are the result of GitKraken Labs, the company’s innovation hub focusing on the future of developer experience.
They have invested in generative AI capabilities to automate tasks like generating and explaining commit messages.
GitKraken recognizes the growing demand for collaboration features and aims to provide better productivity and collaboration for developers working alone or in diverse teams.
