Wireshark, the popular network protocol analyzer, has released version 4.2.0, which brings several notable changes and new protocol support.
The notable changes in this version include support for dark mode on Windows, improved packet list sorting, better generation of valid UTF-8 output, a new feature for filtering raw bytes, smarter autocomplete for display filters, enhanced MAC address lookup, changes in installation targets, and relocatable installation on Linux.
Additionally, Wireshark 4.2.0 introduces support for various new protocols, including Aruba UBT, ATSC Link-Layer Protocol, DECT DLC and NWK protocols, Digital Object Identifier Resolution Protocol, Fortinet FortiGate Cluster Protocol, HTTP/3, JSON 3GPP, Microsoft Delivery Optimization, SAP protocols, UBX protocol of u-blox GNSS receivers, Video Protocol 9, and many more.
